Passionist Monastery of Our Lady of Florida
1962-2012
On March 10th, 2012, Our Lady of Florida will celebrate 50 years of Handing On the Faith with a special day of events. The program will begin with our Golden Jubilee Mass at 11:00am on our outdoor altar. The celebrant for the Mass will be Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito, Bishop of the Diocese of Palm Beach. Also, Most Reverend John Noonan, Bishop of the Diocese of Orlando will be in attendance as concelebrant. Our homilist for the Mass is Very Reverend Robert Joerger, C.P., Provincial of the Passionist Province of St. Paul of the Cross. Following Mass, lunch will be served outdoors under tents and we will have tours and other events scheduled. There is no charge for the day and the public is invited. This is an invitation for you to celebrate with the Passionists 50 years of people’s stories of healing, forgiveness and hope. The Passionists are mindful that four generations have been touched by the presence of the Passionists and the Spiritual Center in South Florida. We know that beyond our state and even our nation, people have found solace here. We are so grateful for your support and care for all that happens here. You can read about our history here. You, too, have experienced Our Lady of Florida Spiritual Center as a place of spiritual rest. How many of you have said that "just turning into our driveway" has brought you hope? Your story is sacred and because of this, you have made Our Lady of Florida holy ground. There will be ample parking available for up to 1,000 vehicles and we truly hope you can join us. In order to prepare for the large number of people who will be attending it would be very helpful if you would drop us an e-mail and let us know how many in your family or group will be attending. This would also insure that you receive any updates for this event and other events that will be planned during our Jubilee Year.
