Father Robin Ryan is a Passionist priest who currently serves on the
Provincial Council for the Passionist community in the eastern
United States. Ordained in 1984, he has given retreats to laity,
religious and clergy throughout his career. He earned his Ph.D. in
systematic theology from the Catholic University of America and
taught systematic theology at Saint John's Seminary in Boston and
Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. He was the founding director
of Catholics on Call, a national vocation discovery program at
Catholic Theological Union. He is the editor and co-author of
Catholics on Call: Discerning a Life of Service in the Church
(Liturgical Press, 2010) and the author of God and the Mystery
of Human Suffering: A Theological Conversation Across the Ages
(Paulist Press, 2011).
