Fr. Vincent's Missions

Parish Missions

Our Lady of Florida is pleased to announce the addition of Fr. Vincent Youngberg, C.P. to the Community and Staff.

About Fr. Vince:

At the height of World War II, Vincent Youngberg dropped out of high school and enlisted in the U.S. Navy.  He served in the North Atlantic and South Pacific theatres as a gunner on merchant ships carrying supplies to our troops.  Following discharge, he worked on a delivery truck.  Unfortunately (or fortunately), the sliding economy caused him to lose his job and he was forced to go back to school.  He completed his high school requirements and went on to Pace College earning a degree in Business Administration.  This was followed by five years in international accounting firm Ernst and Ernst and five years in corporate accounting with B.F. Goodrich.

As a result of a profound retreat experience at a Passionist Retreat House in West Hartford, Connecticut, he felt a calling to religious life.  He entered the Passionist Congregation in 1959 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1967.  Fr. Vincent returned to graduate studies in 1972 and in 1976 earned a Masters Degree in Human Development.

Since Ordination to the priesthood, Fr. Vincent has conducted missions and retreats around the world:  Europe, Africa, the Philippines, the West Indies and in the United States.  The demand for his message continues to keep him on the move even into his late seventies.
